raising tomorrow’s leaders
youth (MABY)
Our formative years are vital in the trajectory of our life. Young people need safe spaces to learn, grow and express themselves. That’s why our youth programmes combine MAB’s two key areas of work: tarbiyah and activism. Our projects are run for the youth, by the youth. They’re designed to ensure that the next generation of young British Muslims grow up educated, confident and well rounded members of society.
What we’re doing
-
we foster responsibility
We believe that young people can responsibly take the lead. That’s why our youth department is run entirely by them. They have the opportunity to be part of a strategic committee that plans events, hosts podcasts and manages teams of volunteers. They get to take control of what matters to them, making sure that their needs are appropriately catered for.
-
we facilitate personal development retreats
In a world full of conflicting ideas, it’s important that our youth have a safe space to enjoy themselves and make long lasting friendships. Our retreats are an opportunity to do just this. While they’re designed to be super fun, they also encourage critical thinking and bond-making.
-
We prioritise local charity work
Through food banks, community clean up days and refugee outreach, our youth work hard to strengthen their local communities. They also spend time fundraising for global humanitarian causes through sponsored walks and mosque bake sales! Whatever the method, charity work is a priority.
